IT Systems & Applications Administrator

Michele Peresso Group of Companies, a leading name in pharmaceuticals, sports retail and fashion, is seeking an experienced IT Systems and Applications Administrator. In this role, you will work closely with the IT Manager to support and maintain the Group’s IT infrastructure and business applications, ensuring systems, networks, and applications are secure, reliable, and aligned with business needs, while providing hands-on support to users across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities include:

Infrastructure & Systems

• Install, configure, maintain, and decommission physical and virtual servers (Windows Server, Linux).
• Manage Active Directory, user accounts, group policies, and access controls.
• Support and maintain user workstations (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity.
• Maintain file, shared storage (NAS/SAN), and print services.

Network & Connectivity

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
• Configure and support switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs (MikroTik preferred)
• Ensure secure and reliable connectivity across all sites.

ERP, Applications & Cloud

• Support ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including retail/POS integrations.
• Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
• Support cloud platforms, primarily Microsoft Azure.
• Manage application access, licensing, updates, and vendor coordination.

Security, Backup & Operations

• Implement security controls (MFA, endpoint protection, system hardening) and apply patches/vulnerability remediation.
• Monitor logs and alerts, assist with incident response, and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.

Support & Continuous Improvement

• Provide tier-2/3 support and troubleshoot complex system, network, and application issues.
• Maintain IT documentation and asset records.
• Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and technology improvements.
• Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and external consultants.

The ideal candidate will have:

• MQF Level 6 qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2–3 years’ experience in IT systems, infrastructure, or application support.
• Strong experience with Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365).
• Experience supporting ERP systems and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a strong asset.
• Good troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Proactive, reliable, and able to work under pressure.
• Valid Maltese driving licence.
• Experience in retail or multi-site environments is an asset.
