Rash guards are sometimes worn underneath wetsuits to minimize abrasion. They also provide sun protection (measured by their UV protection Factor) and minimal protection against jellyfish stings. A rash guard aids in avoiding irritation brought on by sudden contact with waves and surface water.
When the weather is warm, numerous additional water sports, including surfing, canoe polo, scuba diving, snorkelling, freediving, wakeboarding, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, or swimming, can be done while wearing only a rash guard.
